SAROUK
a large village in the neighbourhood of Sultanabad where Sedjades are made and little else. They are close-cut and finely drawn. All the floor-carpets referred to in the trade as Saruks are not produced in
this village, but in Sultanabad. It is possible that these carpets were originally described as Saruks, instead of Sultanabads, in order to conceal the precise place of their origin from competitors, the very opposite of what was done in the case of the Mushkebad carpets .
